thanksgiving

Miles successfully made it through his first thanksgiving today :) He even found himself a part of the cool carseat club...

It was a sweet thing to be celebrating together with 70 others today. (Thank you, John and Beth, for giving us all a place to find joy and family here, especially during holidays when we're all missing loved ones).

Our family is overwhelmed with all that God has given us to be thankful for.

Even in the moments this year that have been just downright hard...God has been gracious enough to allow us to see just how blessed we were in those moments.

God has been teaching our family a lot since we have moved here (some lessons learned easier than others) One of the biggest things is just how much he loves us and how much grace he continually pours out on us...when we are so undeserving. It really is too much for me to take in.

We're grateful for the seasons of life that he brings us through. That there are always sweet mountaintops after we trudge through the valleys. Thank you for being a part of all of those seasons with us. For how you've cared for our family and loved us through prayer and sacrificing financially, for emails, encouragement, and just a simple word to let us know that you are in this with us. Thank you. Along with the long list of things that we have to thank God for today and everyday...you all are included.

We pray that you have each counted Jesus and his love as your greatest gift this thanksgiving day. That in all seasons of your life, you too may feel his unending love for you and be joyfully overwhelmed by his goodness and grace.

  3. Your warm words are so genuine and comforting...better than a stomach filled with turkey and pie. What a blessing at such a young age you both can see His unending love in all seasons of your life and be joyfully overwhelmed by his goodness and grace.

  4. I read your blog regularly - but in a reader, so I guess I've never caught your faces before. A shame, really, because we sat at the table for a while at John and Beth's. SMH. Well, next time, I'll know.

I wanted to say something on thanksgiving. I was watching the both of you - not in some weird stalker way - just people watching - my wife was in the States and I really didn't know a lot of people there.

Anyway, I wanted to compliment you on your love for each other - or how much it shows on the outside. Missions can be very challenging on relationships. I wanted you to know that I could SEE it - the genuine love you have for each other. It was cool to see.

    Until next time...
