someone's laughing

God definitely has a sense of humor!

Yesterday morning my parents and sister were supposed to leave for home. We were all disappointed as they were heading home without being able to see our baby born, but somehow trying to trust God's plan that this was best.

Well, we got to the airport and saw everyone standing outside still. Looks like we got there before the airport opened?

As we were getting out of our car to grab bags, two men come up to tell us that the airport is closed.

Obviously somewhere along the almost 2 years of living here Jared and I have picked up this habit that we don't believe everything that we are told at first...

I continued to ignore the guy at my shoulder that keeps telling me the airport is closed. Yeah yeah yeah, I'm thinking. Just let me get my parents in "line".

Well, he continues to say this to me laughing as I'm trying to ignore him. Then we notice many more people join in letting us know there are no flights because of the storm (hurricane Irene).

Are you kidding? I started cracking up laughing looking at the clear, sunny blue skies once I realized this seemed to be true.

I was disappointed that my parents and sister were going home and that our baby still hadn't come. And now their flight is cancelled ?!

Talk about second chance !!!

After we realized that the flights truly were all cancelled, my friend who had been talking to my shoulder looks at me laughing, "Believe me now?" Yes, I believe you now we laughed.

We had to go to the offices to get new tickets for everyone, and it turns out that they can't fly out until Sunday !

So...although our little man still hasn't arrived, I feel pretty confident in saying that he will be here before Sunday.

God is definitely having grace on us through this! And probably laughing at me, too, after how much I tried to have things in my own control this week, and it just didn't work.

No problem for God...he'll just shut down the airport for a day just for us... I've never been so thankful for a possible hurricane :)

  6. Yahoo! The baby is almost here! So glad to hear the news that your family has to stay longer...hurricanes usually induce labor as the barometic pressure changes. Glad it's a boy so you won't name him Irene!!

  9. I must be getting excited about the baby coming because I dreamed about it this morning!
About 5 a.m. (Pacific Time) this morning, I dreamed I was sitting on my bed talking to someone who was standing on a stool doing something near the window curtain, when a woman (about 40 years old - I didn’t recognize her) with 3” long soft brown bouncing curls on her head came in and announced in an almost dancing way that Jalayne had her baby. I smiled and said to her, “You already just came in and told us.” She said, “No, I just heard about it and you are the first I’ve told.” (Still in the dream )I realized I’d HAD A DREAM (in the dream!) about her coming in. As I related that dream to them, I realized the woman in the dream’s hair was a little different. It had glowing light about 2” long on the tips of each lock. Her hair wasn’t quite as curly so each lock appeared to be about 5” long.
The realization that I dreamed I had a dream in the SAME dream, caused me to suddenly wake up and look at the clock, which said 5:00 a.m. Rarely do things from the day’s events get into my dreams that same night (I had been looking at the blog yesterday [and the day before, etc.] to see if the baby had come) – plus for it to contain a dream within a dream - plus for there to be a seemingly angelic presence – so I knew God was waking me to pray long before it was time to get up, so I immediately started praying and am still praying.
I am eager for an update. Janet
